As we are a broker we access wholesale rates that are updated every minute. Most banks and brokers set their exchange rate in the morning and do not move it throughout the day. If there is a major exchange rate movement during the day you will only benefit from it through us.

The minimum order value is £300

We apply no maximum order value.

Yes, subject to minimum order values. The minimum amount per currency is £100. There is a £5 handing fee on all orders that total under £700. A £2 fee is applied to each additional currency order under £300 and the minimum order value is £300.

We do not supply travellers’ cheques and Prepaid Cards.

Payment

You can pay by bank transfer using our Open Banking portal “Vyne”, Apple Pay, Google Pay or a UK-based debit or credit card.

If you choose to pay us by debit or credit card, please note the following:

  • There is a maximum limit of £5,000.00 for any individual or multi-currency order paid by card
  • Open banking (Vyne) does not have these restrictions
  • We only accept UK-based debit cards and personal credit cards
  • We do not accept corporate credit cards

As you will see elsewhere on our website we are a fully legal, licensed and compliant business. We hold the relevant Financial Conduct Authority permissions for international payments and HM Revenue & Customs permissions for banknote transactions and these can be checked online here for your reassurance.

There are no commission charges. Postage is usually free unless you select a Saturday or 9.00 AM delivery. Specific note denomination requests carry a small charge. Also, if your order total is below £700, a £5.00 handling fee will occur. Any individual currency order below £300.00 will attract a £2.00 handling fee. A 0% fast credit fee is applied for card payments.

Vyne is a free-to-use, safe and secure open banking platform that helps you to swiftly make payments without having to leave the website and log in to your own bank’s internet banking platform separately. It is seamlessly integrated with us and has similar advantages to using a card as we will be able to update your account quickly and begin processing your order sooner if you have chosen a close delivery date. Best of all it costs you nothing to use.

Open banking is a faster, easier, safer way to pay at checkout, straight from your banking app or online banking.

No, you don't need to have or create an account with Vyne.

Vyne uses your own banks' own technology to enable you to pay faster, easier and safer.  Without the risk of storing or sharing card details, you are less likely to become a victim of fraud.

Vyne is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as an Authorised Payment Institution with reference number 925649.

No, once you have selected your bank, we’ll securely connect to your bank and the order details are pre-populated for you to approve the payment, meaning there’s no risk of paying the wrong account, or incorrect reference details.

When you make a payment with Vyne you are protected under the Consumer Rights Act, this is the same protection you have when making payments by cash and debit card.

In the highly unlikely event that Vyne misdirects a payment, Vyne is liable to reimburse the payment under Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulation.

Paying by bank transfer

Making a bank transfer is a simple option to pay money from your bank account to another. Go to your online banking account and complete the steps to make the transfer to Travel FX using the bank details you are sent when you make your order and including your order number as a reference.

Delivery

We use the Royal Mail’s Special Delivery service to send you your foreign currency.

This service is insured for the GBP equivalent of the currency contents, the Royal Mail provide a guarantee of a 1 pm delivery and this on the next working day after we despatch it to you.

This means that if we despatch it on Tuesday you should receive it by 1 pm on Wednesday. If we despatch on a Friday you would receive it on Monday unless your local service delivers it on Saturday, but this is not guaranteed as a Saturday is not a Royal Mail Special Delivery working day. We do offer additional postage options of delivery before 9am and Saturday delivery for a surcharge, please see additional postage options below.

Please note these important points:

• Deliveries are subject to stock availability and order volumes. We always aim to meet customers dates.

• You should not order today and expect delivery before the date you have requested.

• We advise allowing 2 business days between your travel date and the requested delivery date as a minimum to avoid disappointment.

• When working out when you want your currency to arrive allow for our published working hours.

It is important to us that you are aware of all of the above so that we can transact correctly for you.

The address you specify on your order. We do not recommend delivery to work addresses.

They will either leave you a notice telling you they attempted delivery and they will return it to your local sorting office from where you will need to collect it or arrange a new delivery; alternatively they will use GPS tracking to confirm it has been delivered to the address specified

Standard delivery is next business day by 1 pm however, we cannot guarantee how the pandemic affects the Royal Mail delivery schedule and a delivery schedule up to 1 pm is the current service arrangement. You will receive a despatch email from us with your unique tracking code. Simply enter it into this website http://www.royalmail.com/trackdetails for up to date tracking of your package. You will not see data until late evening on the day of despatch.

We will post it to you by Royal Mail Insured Special Guaranteed Next Day Delivery. Please note we can send a maximum of £7500 (or equivalent) per day per address so your order may be sent over 2 or more days. If you fall into this category we may discuss the delivery logistics with you. We only deliver to the areas dictated by the terms of the Royal Mails Special Delivery service.

We do offer additional postage options including Saturday delivery, these will incur a surcharge.

We will email you confirming the details of your order. It is important that you read this completely as it contains important information about your order.

You will receive another email when we start to prepare your order and a further email once we despatch your order.

Please ensure you check your junk/spam before being concerned about the non-receipt of these emails as your ISP may have blocked them and in some cases prevented you from receiving them at all.

Yes, but this is at our sole discretion and may involve a charge.

We are happy to buy your unused banknotes. Please go to our Sell Currency tab to use this service.

Orders once placed cannot be cancelled. If under exceptional circumstances you contact us and we agree to terminate your order you will be required to pay a £25.00 cancellation fee plus the costs of reversing the foreign exchange transaction. You will agree to this in our Terms and Conditions when placing your order.
